Tom Satriano--1964
A light-hitting utility player who spent half
of his time behind the plate for the
Angels in the 1960s, Tom Satriano is not
the only family member to have ever
graced a rectangle of cardboard.
No, it wasn’t his father, a brother or even
a son who joined him in cardboard.
Satriano’s cardboard family tree included
a daughter, Gina, who pitched for the
Silver Bullets in 1994-95.
A right-handed hurler, Gina logged a 0-
6. 6.27 mark in 29 outings during her two
seasons with the Silver Bullets.
It’s too bad her old man couldn’t have
caught Gina, as 1964 Cy Young Award
winner Dean Chance went 6-0-1,
0.43 in seven outings during his magical
season with the elder Satriano behind
the dish.
