Steve Kuczek--1949
In 2004 I had the pleasure to interview
Steve Kuczek for the magazine At The
Yard about his one appearance in a big
league game. He was gracious in telling
the story of the humorous circumstances
that led to his entry into the game and
subsequently the record books as one of
the nearly one hundred hitters to have a
1.000 career batting average.
Kuczek passed away in November 2010,
but his story lives on...
