Rafael Landestoy--1981
With Christmas around the corner, I have
come to understand that my youngest
daughter, Brooklyn, would like a
Chia-Obama as a present--- but I am
trying to talk her into a Chia-Landestoy
instead.
Editor's Note: Rafael Landestoy was a
light-hitting utility player for the Dodgers,
Astros and Reds from 1977-1984. He
would play every position on the
diamond, except pitcher and catcher, but
was best in the middle of the infield.
Landestoy would lead NL second
sackers in fielding percentage in 1980
for the Astros. The switch-hitter would
ultimately hit .237 in 1367 plate
appearances, launching four long balls
during his career, of which one was off
future Hall of Famer Steve Carlton.
