Lowell Palmer--1970
We guess If we raised pigeons as a
hobby, we too would also hide behind a
pair of Foster Grants.

A former first round pick of the Phillies,
Palmer would go 5-18, 5.29 in 106
outings over five seasons. Wildness was
his downfall, as the right-hander would
walk 202 batters with 35 wild pitches in
his 216 innings of work.
Maybe he should have taken off the
glasses.

Editor’s Note: Palmer would pitch for the
Cleveland Indians in 1972, ultimately
being traded to the Yankees in 1973 for
Mike Kekich following the wife-swapping
scandal in the Bronx.
