Keith Lampard--1970
Having one future big league player on a
Little League team would be special.
Having two is almost unheard of---
unless you are talking about the 1958
Rose City Little League squad of
Portland, OR, which had both Keith
Lampard and Rick Wise on their team.

Unfortunately the Rose City Nine lost 2-1
to Kankakee (IL) at the Little League
World Series. It was a short trip to
Williamsport for the pair of future big
leaguers, as the World Series was a
single-elimination tournament at the time.

Lampard's SABR Bio-project noted that
he rapped out two hits in the game.

Wise's SABR Bio-project just mentioned
that he played in the '58 Little League
World Series, instead highlighting his
2-hitter for the area squad in the Babe
Ruth World Series a few years later. In
1975, the right-hander would face the
Big Red Machine twice in THE World
Series, as he recorded a trifecta of
Series appearances.

Editor's Note: A two-time All-Star, Wise
logged a 188-181, 3.69 mark in 18 big
league seasons, while the fly chasing
Lampard would hit .238, with one long
ball in 62 major league games over two
seasons.
