RAIDERS RE-SIGN GEORGE BLANDA

Hall of Famer to Don the Black & Silver Again

With quarterback JaMarcus Russell
experiencing knee problems and listed as
“Doubtful” for the Carolina Panthers game
this Sunday, Raiders Owner Al Davis
shocked the football world again by signing
81-year-old George Blanda in another
controversial move.

“We tried to bring back Daryle Lamonica,
but he is out fishing for the weekend with
his TV show,” said Davis. “George was my
second option to help bring my Raiders
back to the glory years.”

“I feel good and ready for action,” noted
Blanda, who last donned an NFL jersey in
1975 at age 48. “My wheelchair was just
oiled and lubed this past week at Herm’s
Filling Station and Tanning Emporium. I
have a day pass from the Joan Rivers
Retirement and Plastic Surgery Center. I
have never felt better.

“They say 50 is the new 40,” added
Blanda, who sports a George Hamilton-like
tan that was free after seven oil jobs at
Herm’s. “Well, then 80 is the new 60 or 70--
hut, hut--- uhhh, numbers sometime
confuse me.”

Good luck Raiders and try to remember...
this is the NFL.

Editor's Note: Do you think that the
photographer saw all the wrinkles on
Blanda's face during the close up shot,
thus he opted for the full body pose? We
can still remember the sight of George
ambling out to the field for a field goal in
his later years. He was quite an athlete and
a warrior to be able to endure a 26-year
career in the NFL... there will never be
another Blanda.
