A card within a card… Gary Pettis
checks out his own card in 1989. The
question begs: How did Upper Deck pull
this one off, as it appears that he is
holding the exact card that he is
presently in?
It's not, but it was close enough to make
us do a double-take and to contemplate
if Topps was pulling a cardboard version
of "what came first, the chicken or the
egg?"
Editor’s Note: The speedy Pettis would
swipe 354 bases during his 11-year
career, while hitting .236 for the Angels,
Tigers, Rangers and Padres during the
1980’s and into the ‘90’s.
