Don Lock--1969
It starts with one strand, then another. As
time passes, the hairs collect in the
shower drain. Before you know it, they
will accumulate into a clump, enough to
clog the drain, causing you have to
reach down and throw them in the
garbage.

Your life is slowly changing, Yep, you are
beginning to look like Don Lock.

With thinning hair at age 32, Lock saw
his big league career end with this card.

The power potential was realized with 99
homers in his first five seasons as a
Washington Senator. However, the bat
never really materialized as the former
Wichita State Shocker would hit just .238
during his 8-year major league career.

Lock was traded by Washington to
Philadelphia after the 1966 campaign for
a youthful Darold Knowles who would
reach All-Star status in the year when
Phillies' fans were looking at this card of
Lock. Yet, it wasn’t the worst deal by
Phillies’ GM John Quinn in ‘66. That
honor goes to the infamous Bob Buhl
and Larry Jackson from the Chicago
Cubs for John Herrnstein, Adolfo Phillips
and Ferguson Jenkins deal.
