Claude Raymond---1966
After beginning his career with three
appearances for the Chicago White
Sox in 1959, Claude Raymond
bounced around the National League
until 1971 as a versatile bullpen
hurler for Milwaukee, Houston and
Atlanta before he headed home to
close out his career hurling for the
Montreal Expos.

Nicknamed “Frenchy,” the native
Canadian routinely handled the
senior circuit from 1964 through
1968, posting a cumulative 2.90 ERA
during the five seasons, while being
named to the 1966 NL All-Star squad.

The rubber-armed right-hander
closed out 83 saves during his 12-
year major league career, but
apparently had trouble closing his fly
when the Topps photographer came
to town.
