Charlie Williams--1978
While the back of Charlie Williams’
card touts his outstanding July of
1976 (in which he didn’t allow an
earned run in eight appearances) as
a career highlight; we trust the
biggest moment came when the right-
hander was shuttled off by the Mets
to San Francisco for an aging Willie
Mays.
After all, being traded for a future
Hall of Famer has its aura, even if
Mays' star was slightly tarnished by
1972.
