Bud Zipfel--1963
Contrary to Washington Senator lore,
former first baseman Bud Zipfel is
not related to squealing television
icon Arnold Ziffel of
Green Acres
fame.

Plucked from the Yankees in the
Expansion Draft, Bud Zipfel was a
light-hitting, punch-less first sacker
for the last place Senators of
1961-62.

He appeared on a 1963 card, but not
in the big leagues ever again. With a
lifetime .220 batting average and 10
long balls on his resume, Zipfel is
probably managing rental properties
back in his hometown of Belleville,
Illinois still wearing the same
Senators cap from this card.
