Bobby Valentine--1974
Before becoming a big league manager
and most recently a baseball analyst with
all the answers for ESPN, Bobby
Valentine was a light-hitting utility
infielder for the Dodgers, Angels,
Padres, Mets and Mariners during the
1970s.

He figured out major league pitching to
the tune of a .260 career batting
average over 639 games. He looks to
have grounded another ball to short in
this photo that was used for his 1974
card.

Hmmm....

Editor's Note: Happy Valentine's Day!

There have been seven big leaguers by
the last name of Valentine: Bob (1876),
Bobby (1969-79), Corky (1954-55), Ellis
(1975-85), Fred (1959-68), Joe
(2003-05) and John (1883).
