A's Stars--1968
We remember Sal Bando being a star.

We remember Bert Campaneris being a star.

However, we
don't remember Danny Cater being a star...

That is until we read the back of this card and was reminded that Cater's .290
batting average in 1968 was second best in the American League. The Oakland
first sacker was runner-up to Boston outfielder Carl Yastrzemski's .301 mark in the
'68 batting title chase.

Never an All-Star, Cater finished his 12-year major league journey through six
organizations with a .272 average, 66 home runs--- and one really good season.
