Al Williams--1985
Al Williams is just not a happy
camper. The glare he throws towards
the cameraman is harder than his
fastballs, that were peppered
throughout the American League
over five seasons.
One of just nine players to emanate
from Nicaragua, Williams was a
member of the Frank Viola-led
rotation for the Minnesota clubs that
wallowed in mediocrity during the
early 1980s.
Handed the ball 120 times by various
Twins' managers, Williams
meandered around the .500 mark for
his career, as the right-hander
logged an ERA over 4.00 in four of
his five major league campaigns.
While his 11 wins of 1983 were
second among Twins hurlers; so
were his 14 losses.
Williams finished his career 35-38,
4.24 and would not pitch again in the
majors following the release of this
card.
Lighten up Al... it's your last Topps
moment.
